Our Photographers
Maddy Gray
Madeline Gray is a freelance documentary photographer. She went to art school but realized she wanted to tell other people's stories so she got her master's degree in photojournalism. Working at newspapers gave Maddy a strong understanding of the power of community journalism. She is driven to tell stories from under-served and under-represented communities and is happiest sitting in someone's kitchen taking pictures and listening as they share their unique beliefs and life experiences.
Keith Papke
Keith Papke is a commercial and advertising photographer out of Raleigh which has been home for the last 20 years. He feels fortunate and blessed to own Original Mind Productions, a successful video and photography company that allows him to meet and work with many different people in different areas and industries. He always finds great joy in returning to his roots as a documentary journalist where his career began. About this assignment, he said "it was an absolute pleasure getting back to the raw and natural type of storytelling photography and meeting and working with these wonderful characters - this has been an incredibly rewarding experience." In addition to his love of photography, Keith enjoys spending time with his wife Renee and their four children.
Shira Rose
Shira W. Rose is a portrait and lifestyle photographer in the Triangle area. As the mother of two, one of which is on the autism spectrum, Shira is passionate about sharing stories through the imagery of individuals with disabilities.
A portrait photographer for almost a decade, her community service work provides her with the privilege of having a front-row seat in people’s lives whose voices may not oftentimes be heard. She feels it is her responsibility not just to create a beautiful image, but to tell the most authentic story for each moment she is capturing.
